When I was pregnant with my oldest, about 16 years ago I asked for a sewing machine for my birthday. I bought some silky yellow fabric and an "easy" pattern from Joann's and came home and thought I was good to go! ...Wrong!

I spent the next few days and weeks cursing at my machine and rereading the sewing machine manual trying to avoid the inevitable conclusion that I was just wasting my time. I threw everything in the corner and over the next few months gradually built up the courage to face my machine again... this time by sewing nice even squares of sturdy cotton into a baby quilt for my Ella.

I inevitably found the perfect patterns, Youtube videos, and sewing blogs to steer me in the right direction and before I knew it I was a fabric junky with an appetite for learning every sewing skill I could handle.

Fast forward a bunch of years and I let friends and family know that I was happy to make things for them. I've done everything from quilts, baby clothes, athletic wear, costumes, alterations, curtains, pillows, and bags (of course). I had the privilege of sewing for a few musicals at the University of New Haven and also working for a custom furniture company for a few years.

Through it all I always knew I wanted to have my own "shop." A place where I can source gorgeous fabrics and hardware and create one of a kind bags that will make people feel special when they use them.

We carry bags with us everywhere we go. Some days you need a sleek elegant bag to match your outfit for an outdoor wedding that will hold just the essentials. A trip to the park with your toddler will mean you need a big sturdy bag with loads of pockets. An everyday purse will have you needing something in between. I love sewing up a wide range of styles that are durable enough to fit into your busy life while also reflecting your own personal style with quirky and beautiful materials.
